Description
Grapes can be eaten fresh in the form of table grapes or it can be used to make wine, jam, juice, jelly, grape seed extract, raisins, vinegar and grape seed oil. Grapes are not a climacteric type of fruit, usually occurring in arrays. Grape juice is obtained from crushing and mixing grapes into a liquid. Juice is often sold in stores or fermented and made into wine, brandy, or vinegar. One cup (151 grams) of grapes provides over a quarter of the RDI for vitamin K, a fat-soluble vitamin vital for blood coagulation and healthy bones. They are also a good source of vitamin C, an important nutrient and powerful antioxidant essential for healthy connective tissue.
